What you will learn on the holiday

You will learn to take excellent photographs in the stunning Spanish countryside. You will be shown how to control your camera rather than let the camera control you! You will also learn how to unleash your creative potential.

We have 3 Canon digital SLR's for guests to try who do not have their own.

What you will learn

-How to understand your camera functions
-Elements of composition and the importance of light
-The use of different types of lenses
-The importance of a tripod
-Shutter speeds, apertures and getting the correct exposure
-How to understand histograms and why
-Depth of field including hyper-focal distance
-Methods of shooting in different file formats and whether to choose raw or jpeg
-Use of filters
-Metering (using different modes eg. evaluative)

Adobe Photoshop

You will go through all the steps required to process you images and print two of your favourite prints.

What you will learn:

-How to import your images
-How to improve your images using:

*Resizing and cropping
*Colour management
*Curves
*Colour correction
*Black and White using Channel Mixer
*Selections
*Burning and Dodging
*Layers
*Adjustment layers
*Layer masks
*Sharpening
*Removing unwanted objects

-Digital workflow including:

*Using Adobe Lightroom
*Mastering camera raw
*Resizing images and correct settings for printing A4 and A3 size
*Saving files
