3 Day Portrait Courses

Valencian Photographic Holidays are now running 3 day portrait courses. Would you like to learn how to shoot portraits using a studio set-up and outdoor locations? Do you want to know how to produce prints of professional standard and build up your own portfolio? Then these courses are designed for you.























Day 1

We will be looking at the basics of portrait photography using a studio. The groups will be limited to no more than 4 people so you will gain the maximum benefit from the day. You will be photographing at least one model and the first day will include:

-How to set up an indoor studio
-Looking at using a light meter and getting the correct camera settings for portrait photography
-How to prepare yourself and the client for the shoot
-How to pose the model
-Shooting a session



Day 2

On this day we will be shooting out on location in the stunning city of Valencia, using a variety of interesting places, backgrounds and natural light to create dynamic images. Also included will be an evening session where we will look at how to use a blend of external flashguns and ambient light. This shoot will be located in and around our local Spanish town of Ontinyent, using the fantastic light from the local bars, restaurants and street lights.



Day 3

You will be taught the necessary Photoshop skills to make prints of your images that will be of professional quality. We will work on both sample images and ones from your own shoot to illustrate ways of softening the skin, brightening eyes, enhancing lips, reducing wrinkles, removing blemishes and lots more. The day will also include an overview of digital workflow.

What is included.

Pick up from and return to Alicante airport, two nights accommodation, breakfast and lunch on all days, evening meal on the first day (on the second day we will have an evening meal in one of the local restaurants, this will be approximately an extra 30€). All tuition, handouts, transport to locations and two prints for you to take home.

What is not included.

Cost of flights, evening meal on day two (see above). Extra nights accommodation and evening meals can be arranged at extra cost.
